We are delighted to be welcoming you to this year’s Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy.
To help you plan your weekend, please take a moment to look over the weekend timetable, site safety information, event map and hospitality details all listed below.
Travel Notice – Roadworks Near Penrith
Please be aware that there are ongoing roadworks on the A66, Kemplay Roundabout, and M6 Junction 40 (all at the Penrith end).
These works are located just off the M6 and can unfortunately cause significant delays, particularly at busy times, potentially adding up to an hour to your journey.
We recommend allowing extra travel time and planning ahead where possible.

Ullswater Yacht Club is delighted to announce that leading international supplier of sailing gear and accessories, Magic Marine will again sponsor the event and is
providing additional prize vouchers;
offering exclusive 64th Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy event T-shirts and rash vests that will be available for on-line pre-ordering from Magic Marine. This website will be updated with further details when orders open;
setting up a pop-up store on site; and
offering entrants discounts on both on-line and on-site purchases of sailing gear, accessories and sports glasses.

other categories.
N.B. There is a strict entry limit of 230 and entries close at midnight Sunday 28th June. Unfortunately late entries cannot be accepted due to administrative constraints
The Birkett is ranked 8th in Yachts and Yachting’s top 50 'must do' sailing events. Competitors contest the Trophy (or perhaps just enjoy the experience) over two all-class handicap races around the length of the lake. One race on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Mass starts of over 200 boats followed by a 14 mile course in spectacular scenery and a festival atmosphere, make this a memorable event for entrants who return year after year.
Racing
Tents & Motorhomes
For tents and small motorhomes (less than 5m long): Camping is available throughout the weekend from the evening of Thursday 2nd July to the evening of Sunday 5th July
For larger motorhomes: Camping is available on the evenings of Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July.
Please note that:
motorhome spaces are limited and in strong demand on Friday and Saturday nights. Pre-booking (online here) is essential; and
the event does not open until Friday and closes on Sunday. Accordingly, no on-site bar and catering will be available before Friday afternoon and after Sunday afternoon. However, Pooley Bridge, other nearby villages and Penrith which is a 10 minute drive away, offer both.
